Our Utah adventure

 

 

We were so lucky to be able to go home for four weeks this summer!! We had the best time and did so many fun things... we also had a few scares thrown in the mix too :) Four weeks may seem like a long time, but the day we were going home I was so sad and was like... why did this trip go by so fast! Of course I cried... sawyer cried. Braydon and Benson were the only ones holding it together. There are a lot of pictures just how I like it! We surprised our famlies. my mom was the only one that knew we were coming early. they thought we were coming a week later! it was seriously so fun to surprise them. It was a little late 1am but so worth it!! Here is a recap of our awesome trip!!

My dad had his shoulder replaced days before we came home. He was asleep recovering on the couch and we woke him up. This was the frst time seeing benson. it was a really sweet moment! They will be best buddies just like him and sawyer!

A fun night! Two very happy boys! we had a great time.

We saw lots of movies! WE loved brave. Sawyer cried at the end when he thought the mom wouldn't change back. He is our sensitive soul!

He is such a sweet horse I really don't worry about him on him at all. My cute dad with his brace... what a good bamp to take him on his favorite horse ever!

So my parents house in st george has all sorts of bugs outside... this was sawyer late at night "getting those nasty bugs" he spent forever trying to get them and would jump everytime he saw one.

benson just really loved utah! He was such a good boy. He is so calm and so happy. He really doesn't cry he whimpers and it's so soft and sweet and it's only if he is hungry.... weird just like his dad and brother

we went and saw spiderman... he loved it and was so good the whole movie. and we had the theatre all to ourselves.

of course we spent A LOT of time at different parks!

Benson is such a good sport to just sit and hang out while brother runs all over the place

saying bye to paul and maddie... they are going to school in texas for five years

sawyer wasn't really being his happy self because the night before he had his accident

so the day just started out like any other day. we went and visted my dad at work came home and sawyer had a little play date with our dear friend/sister laila. They were playing in the living room at my moms house next thing i hear is a little scream... someone yelling get him and then crying. I run out to the living room to a bleeing child. His face was covered in blood. Blood was sprayiing from what i thought was just his mouth from maybe biting his tounge. there was so much blood. I wasn't emotional at this point. Blood was all over sawyer, his clothes, the bath room, it was filling the bath tub and it was all over me. So blew a bunch of blood out of his mouth and that is when I saw it. the whole in his mouth. My little boy had bit through hsi lip. it looked so bad and so painful. the whole time I was holding him in the bath room he is saying I'm so sorry mom i'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. I didn't mean to get blood on you. He is the sweetest. He is always concered about others. that is when i started to cry. my dear mother brought me back to reality. She spoke to me firmly and said " you don't get to break down now" so i sucked it up and we got a few things and we were off to primary childrens medical center. luckily... can this have luck involved? luckily we had planned to go out of a family dinner and braydons family were going to watch the boys so i pumped a big bottle of milk. So my mom kept benson for us while braydon and I took sawyer to get fixed up. He fell asleep on the way up and I was able to get a pretty good picture of his face! It still breaks my heart. The staff was amazing... they always are up there. When sawyer fell he hit the corner of my moms coffee table and his top right k9 fell out and there is still a tooth imprint on her  cofee table. We are still unsure if he passed out or not.

it never really stopped bleeding. It did slow down A LOT... my moms house looked like a murder scene

they brought him a movie to watch and the sound comes out of the remote on the bed He thought that was so cool

it took 5 people to hold him down to get his iv put in. He hated it.

even though he hated the iv he hated the wrap they put on it even more. this kid hates bandaids and stickers so much

they had to sedate him to suture his face. they use ketamine which is kinda scary if you don't know about it. His eyes were still open and he still spoke, but he couldn't feel anything and he wasn't really there

the doctor told us it would take at least an hour for him to speak and make sense. before she got her gloves off to leave the room i was trying to get picture of his face all stitched up and sawyer said... " cheeeeeeeeese" he was so funny while he was waking up. he tried so hard to get off the table and walk. he told the doctore 15 minutes after she was done he was ready to go home. and he tried to leave... obviously he couldn't walk and we had to wait which he hated.

we really feel so lucky that nothing worse happened and it was treated easily! kids are so tough and heal so fast!

we went to a small local rodeo and they do a chicken run. Sawyer did it and it was hilarious. he was so excited and ran all over the place and a chicken jumped on his feet and he freaked out and then he was done.

my parents watched the boys while we went and saw the new batman movie. Sawyer always has the best time with them! they went to a few strores and luckily one of them had these cool car strollers

Welcome home!!! we had the best time and wish so badly we still were there, but it's good to be home and back into our routine! thank you so much to my parents for letting us stay with them, use their car and eat their food! we are so lucky to have the best family! we can't wait to come home again because that means ben will be home!!!!! We love you all
