our trip home to meet our lillian girl
We finally made it to utah! we got there on benson's birthday! we had to do a little more celebrating!
Jon and em were so nice and came to the hogle zoo with us! we had a great time and great weather!!
Sawyer woke up with a bloody nose... it always seems to happen when we got back to utah! that altitude is a little hard on the kids!
we had the best week in utah! our favorite part was meeting our lillian lady! we love her and the boys are obsessed with her. She sure is beautiful and the boys love kissing her.
so we got on our flight from utah. and we had to stay in a holding pattern because are lay over in detroit was experiencing some weather. so we did that for about an hour... well and hour later they said we still couldn't land and we were running out of fuel so they had to take us to the nearest airport which was fort wayne indiana. its a very small airport and not equipped to handle a bowing 757. so we sat on the run way for about 4 hours while they tried to figure out how to move the plane and get us off. The boys were very hungry and very tired and everyone was so hot. The AC wasnt working. and some of the people on the plane were very rude. 'we were finally able to get off with the scariest make shift stair case. I had to fight with them to get my stroller off the plane so i could have it since i was flying with two kids alone. by the time they got it an hour later... we got inside the airport to find the only source of food had closed for the night... so almost 8 hours later we were stuck in the fort wayne airport with no hope off getting home... they had to send a flight crew from detroit when he weather was better because our pilots had exceeded their hours. so they said the soonest we could leave was midnight, but we would have to go back to detroit and stay the night there because the connecting flights to kentucky were all done and wouldn't happen until the next day. well, my darling mama helped us out like she always does and helped us find a shuttle and hotel and we ordered pizza and the boys and i slept in our clothes and got up the next morning in the same clothes and rode the shuttle back to the airport where we stood in line for two hours. my boys were amazing for those two hours. by the time they printed my ticket and we were going through security an announcement came over the intercom to say that the flight to detroit was delayed... well that meant i would miss the only connecting flight back to kentucky. AWESOME... well i wasn't about to spend the night in detroit with no clothes so the boys and i rented a car... thankfully they had two carseats and we drove the almost 6 hours home. We were so excited to cross the bridge into kentucky!! and get home. we were exhausted. it was a terrible terrible way to come home, but we are so thankful for my mom, and for getting home safely.
